Thanks to Dave "Brownie" Brown for sharing his photos from
the mid 1960s. There are some pictures we have not seen before of the area
and several new faces - Fran Tarr for example. Brownie has included the
infamous Zigeunermuhl - "Gypsy Mill" and the girls from Scotland - he says it was
where a number of gypsies had been killed and it was next to a mill, hence, the
Gypsy Mill, located near the Waldstein ruin (in the woods) about a half "klick"
outside Weissenstadt ... the gasthaus is now abandoned. The gasthaus on
the Fichtelsee in these photos, according to Paul Miller, is the "Waldhotel
am Fichtelsee" which some in the 60s have called the "seehaus".
