Thanks to Danny McGraw for sharing his photos from the mid
60's. Remember just driving around the Bischofsgruen and Wunsiedel areas
on your days off - no shopping malls there? Or just waiting around in Bischofsgruen for your VW or Porsche to be "fixed"? How about all those
international road signs - signs to nowhere? Nothing to do? How
about going to the slalom races (Jeansonne and Knorr were there) at Bindlach
Barricks!!!! Then there was always the trip up the l-o-n-g grade (anyone
remember what it was 5% or something else?) in a "deuce and 1/2" after a few
brews at the Tanz Cafe or Gasthaus Post. The only picture I recall of Bob
Muckridge I've seen on this web site - he lives today in the Indianapolis area and still drives a
Corvette although his car of choice in Germany was a six cylinder Corvair!
How about the photo of Russell Jolley ... not many of him have surfaced so far
.... we could use some help identifying the "uigi.jpg" photos
... these guys look really familiar. Also is the correct spelling of the dog Uchuck or Oochuck?
Danny and I are pretty sure Mike Carroll's nickname was "poop" (Danny
says it was "baby poop" because that was the color of the car he drove on the
hill.) but I believe
there was someone on the hill in the mid 60s with the nickname "peeps" ...
anyone else remember the same? Revised some of the photos for better
quality and added several new faces to include OuChuck the dog and Danny's
friend.
